Brand Genesis and Storytelling
Our partnership
In partnership with the CEO of 4.0 Schools, Good Influence embarked on a journey to creatively tell the story of 4.0’s genesis, vision, mission, and theory of change. In the spirit of 4.0’s mission and values, we produced a graphic chapbook called “Good Trouble at 4.0” that could serve as a touchstone document to guide and anchor all members of the 4.0 community—from staff to program coaches, founders, funders, and families. The chapbook also included a discussion guide to help the audience connect the story’s characters, setting, and plot elements to the people and change-making process at 4.0.
Good Influence brought on a team of creative youth of color who led the visual storytelling, including a Black public high school student who painted all of the watercolor visuals. Our charge was to tell the story of 4.0’s theory of change by building a real and unreal world, and a cast of characters who embody the spirit of rebellion and revolution that defines 4.0’s ethos and mission.
Our process and deliverables
Directed creative strategy, graphic design, content, and publication for “Good Trouble at 4.0”
Guided a high school student who painted all of the watercolor visuals for the chapbook
Designed a companion discussion guide for 4.0 staff and leaders
Conducted interviews and storytelling feedback sessions to co-create and refine content
Our commitment to being a good influence
It has been one of the greatest pleasures to work with the Good Influence team, which led a meticulously collaborative and creative process for developing our organizational chapbook—from concept to design. This chapbook will be a critical part of how we engage and inspire our team, fellows, and donors with 4.0’s vision and theory of change.
