Bottom Line

Regional Expansion

Support from across the region demonstrated both the need for Bottom Line’s model and strong interest in bringing it to Los Angeles.

Our partnership

Over several years, Good Influence helped Bottom Line move from interest in Los Angeles to a grounded case for expansion.

The work began with a feasibility study examining the region’s students, college-access and success landscape, existing organizations, funding environment, and opportunities for Bottom Line to contribute something distinctive. That analysis was deepened through conversations with leaders across philanthropy, government, civil rights, K–12 education, higher education, and the nonprofit sector.

Good Influence helped Bottom Line build relationships with prospective funders and partners, prepare for critical conversations, plan opportunities for broader philanthropic engagement, and cultivate institutional champions. Support from across the region demonstrated both the need for Bottom Line’s model and the strength of the welcome it would receive.

As the picture came into focus, Good Influence helped Bottom Line sharpen the case for a West Coast presence and anticipate the choices and investments expansion would require. The result was a path from a promising idea to a decision the organization’s leadership and board could embrace with confidence.
